Lightning

My work with Import Alliance gives me access to beautiful scenery alongside top-of-the-line automobiles. Here I was invited onto the Atlanta Motor Speedway and captured this shot of a driver around midday. I added red to the highlights to make it feel deeper and added grain to make this lone car feel as though it were in a place between being.

To me, it evokes liminal spaces, or the 3D backgrounds of early 2000s cartoons or computer games. The lines of movement especially make it feel like it’s a shot from a video game. It’s a sort of loneliness and isolation that stands out to me.
